Restorative Practices

Restorative practices are intervention measures CRC uses to create and sustain supportive environments. Our staff works with educators to incorporate circle-keeping practices at a school-wide level to build students’ empathy and self-regulation, support teachers’ classroom management, and nurture positive school culture by cultivating a growth mindset. A restorative approach provides alternatives to punishment and has been proven to greatly reduce disciplinary referrals. CRC, along with a growing number of educators and advocates, sees restorative practices as a way to interrupt the school-to-prison pipeline.
